Our
lives can go in any directions depending on the decisions we make.
We are more likely to choose a productive life or a destructive
life for ourselves based on the situations we’re born into.
It’s no secret that some people are dealt a more difficult
hand of cards than others. A person born to a single mother with
a drug addiction is far more likely to choose a life like hers
than someone who is born to two middle class parents.
We
still have the opportunity to make our own choices about what
we do with the lives we’ve been given, but sometimes people
aren’t aware of that. That’s why Car Angel has been
leading the charge to distribute books on reform to the U.S. prison
systems. These books get into the reality of destructive patterns
and tell readers that change IS possible and how to go about doing
it.
What
began as a small hopeful project has succeeded in changing hundreds
of lives. A new book is released every year into the prisons and
letters of gratitude pour in telling stories of reform and asking
for materials. People who thought they had no hope now have a
future and a whole new lease on life.
Our
books save taxpayers an estimated $160,000,000 a year from criminals
who change their lives and inspire changes in other as well.
Below
is part of Death Sentence, just one of the many books we have
released into the prison systems. It’s books just like this
one that are making changes in prisons and hearts everywhere.
200,000 new books were released in May, 2005, and the changes
continue to be recognized. Take some time to read this passage
and see why our books have been so greatly received by the prison
population.
